Mjox lo Mzala
The Group
Mjox and Mzala are a dynamic Kwaito duo who come from the townships of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The group consists of Tafara Joga AKA “Mjox” and the jovial Austin AKA “Mzala”. More than a decade ago Mjox lo Mzala came together to form a group known as the Street Niggaz. Their ability to work under pressure has seen them manage to work with various artists across Bulawayo, both recording and producing. Their ability to work as a team and their love of sharing ideas makes these two unstoppable. They are definitely headed for dizzy heights.
The Music
From shady back door studios they have managed to produce Kwaito tracks that have taken the airwaves by storm. With virtually no state of the art equipment, they write their own lyrics and produce their own beats as well. Their raw talent is a marvel as they have become a household name amongst their peers.
The Performances
This group has gone against all odds and have taken audiences across the city of Bulawayo by storm at festivals including the Ibumba International Festival and Intwasa Arts Festival. Mjox lo Mzala, backed by the Street Niggaz, present a fierce stage presence in live performances and leave the audience intrigued and entertained with modern day Southern African dance routines. They have raised the curtains for top visiting acts from South Africa such as Mafikizolo, Malaika, Zola, and Mzekezeke.
