Missing Piece
The group
Having been members of Manama High School Drama Club, the young school leavers decided to continue with their quest for entertainment and went on to form Missing Piece. The group currently comprises more than fifteen members and is currently based in the suburb of Nkulumane. This group has seen trying times; once during one of their national tours they were involved in a terrible accident and lost some key artists in the process. That did not deter the survivors: Muthusi Ndlovu and Desire Moyo persevered.
Comedy, theatre, music
Bulawayo is ablaze with talent and boasts of many entertainers. What separates this group from the others is their ability to tell a real life story in a different manner. Something that happens every day feels new to an audience. This is the experience that is felt by most members of the public after watching any one of their performances. Missing Piece has definitely grown from strength to strength. They have performed in small school theatres across Matabeleland to present day, where they manage to woo the audience at various functions that include the highly profiled Ibumba International Festival.
The performances
Script writer, actor, and director Desire Moyo has created several productions dating back to 2002. Recently he wrote the piece A moment of anger, a hit at Ibumba International Festival in 2008. Project Sofika was produced in 2002 and Calabash and Kwelakithi in 2007, with some parts in the shows performed by Manama High School children who were trained by Desire himself.
