Jeepers Makers
The group
“Born in the Theatre” is what best describes Jeepers Makers. Having had acting experience from school before coming together, Clive Chigubu and Mayibongwe Sibanda, both barely twenty, make the two-man show Jeepers Makers. Hailing from Mzilikazi township of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, these youngsters set the mood alive by sending the audience reeling with laughter when they are on stage.
Individually, these self motivated artists have gained experience in the various opportunities that exist for art loving school children, the most popular of these being Radio Dialogue Schools Arts Competition, the Foundation College public speaking forum, and NASH, in Bulawayo. Soon after leaving school, Clive & Mayibongwe decided to take up comedy as their speciality. It has been two years since their inception, but they are still going strong, never looking back.
Live comedy
The story lines of Jeepers Makers are around an uncle and a nephew, who, through deceit, lies, and unfaithfulness reveal a true sense of humour. To date they have had three productions, the most popular of these being “What happens at the bus stop” and all of which guarantee audience satisfaction.
The performances
Recent work of Jeepers Makers includes performances at the following venues: Intwasa Festival, Ibumba International Festival, and Amakhosi Road to Fame. Coming from the township, their greatest motivation is to give back to the community. The world awaits this young duo.
