Literally translated as “Sound of the Nation,” Umdumo Wesizwe’s vocals and dance routines purely represent the versatility of Zimbabwean dance and song. Igusheshe is their own style of music created and developed by Umdumo Wesizwe gaining inspiration from the world popularly known Imbube. This is a unique style of vocal music which incorporates R n B; Jazz; Reggae and Hip Hop. They are on their “The Return Tour” which will see them touch base in rural venues in the autumn of 2009. Ibumba Festival
Ibumba International Festival is the arts fiesta that celebrates life and culture and its diversity under the theme "One Bulawayo, One people, One festival”. The year 2009 marks the 12th edition of this multi-cultural and multi talented edition which will see Zimbabwe’s local artists and international visitors of all genres showcasing their unique talent.
Sabela Music Projects is proud to be associated with the continual growth of Ibumba International Festival, which this year incorporates the 20th anniversary of the founding of our flagship act Siyaya Arts.
Ibumba International Festival seeks to create a viable arts industry through unique world class performance by upcoming and seasoned artists. Workshops and seminars will also be held on the sidelines of the festival where topics addressing the development and capacitating the artists shall be conducted and it is all happening in Makokoba, the oldest township with vibrant new ideas in the heart of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s cultural hub and second largest city, and it’s all in 16 days of solid fun, super performances, cultural exchange and sound business exchange.
